From October 19th to 20th, 2023 China Distance and Continuing Education Conference was held in Beijing. The case of "Promoting the Overseas "Chinese+TVET" Education to Cultivate Local Compound Professionals" submitted by the Online Education College of Beijing Language and Culture University(BLCU) was selected into the "2023 Excellent Cases of Distance and Continuing Education in Chinese Universities".

The case of "Promoting the Overseas "Chinese+TVET" Education to Cultivate Local Compound Professionals" systematically summarized the "Chinese+TVET" program of the Online Education College from the aspects of course resource construction, marketing development and project effectiveness, etc. The Online Education College actively served to jointly build the "The Belt and Road Initiative" in its cross-border distance international Chinese education. Considering the strong Chinese learning needs of countries along the Belt and Road, Online Education College implemented the cross-border online "Chinese+TVET" plan with supply-side innovation, and give priority to the development of a series of business service "Chinese+TVET" training programs. These programs aim at serving more students in the form of cross-border distance education and strengthen the connection between Chinese learning, learners’ career development and social life in their countries. With the help of the programs, the learners can experience more directly and quickly the practical and economic value of Chinese learning.
The cross-border distance "Chinese+TVET" program of the BLCU Online Education College is based on its more than 20 years of cross-border distance international Chinese education experience. The program is an integration of international Chinese education and vocational skills training, which aims to provide high-quality Chinese courses and learning services for overseas professionals of all kinds, and to cultivate local compound professionals in countries along the Belt and Road. Since the program was launched on eBLCU.com platform, more than 1,000 international students have been trained, of which nearly half of the learners come from countries along the Belt and Road that has close economic and trade relations with China.
