It's Children's Day 儿童节(Értóng jié) on 1st June in China.

The origin (qǐyuán 起源) was to honor the importance of protecting rights and interests (bǎozhàng quányì 保障权益) of children.

Children under 14 can get a 1 day off on Children's Day in China. If it falls on a school day, schools organize lots of fun activities for children, such as games and parties, watching movies (kàn diànyǐng 看电影) and other fun fairs. To top off the exciting day, kids also receive snacks (língshí 零食) and candy (tángguǒ 糖果). 

It's weekend for Children's Day this year. I think it's even better because parents can take their kids out for fun, for example to the amusement park (yóu lè chǎng 游乐场)!
