It is Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节(zhōngqiūjié) tomorrow. It is one of the most important festivals in China. 

The Mid-Autumn Festival is on the 15th day of the 8th month in lunar calendar with a full moon at night. Usually it falls on late September to early October. It’s on September 29th this year. 

Let’s learn some words and expressions about the festival.

zhōng qiū jié shì nóng lì bā yuè shíwǔ

中秋节是农历八月十五。

Mid-Autumn Day is on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar.

中秋节我们会吃月饼，会回家和家人团聚，一起吃团圆饭。

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, we will eat moon cakes and gather with family to enjoy a reunion dinner.

zhōng qiū jié nà tiān de yuè liang tè bié yuán, shì mǎn yuè。

中秋节那天的月亮特别圆，是满月。

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon is especially round and full.

满月（mǎn yuè）Full moon

Yuányuán de yuèliang xiàngzhēng zhe tuányuán.

圆圆的月亮象征着团圆。

The Mid-Autumn day and the full moon is a symbol of harmony and unity.

Chī wán fàn, wǒmen hái huì yīqǐ shǎng yuè.

吃完饭，我们还会一起赏月。

After the meal, we will also appreciate the full moon together.

赏(shǎng) is coming from the word 欣赏(xīnshǎng) to enjoy. 月(yuè) is the moon.
