The Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 (Zhōngqiū Jié) is a time for reunion 团圆 (tuányuán) and joy. Celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, it is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. People come together to admire the full moon 满月 (mǎnyuè), which symbolizes unity and harmony.
One of the most famous traditions is eating mooncakes 月饼 (yuèbǐng), which are round pastries filled with a variety of flavors口味 (kǒuwè), like lotus seed paste 莲蓉 (liánróng) and red bean 红豆 (hóngdòu). Families also light beautiful lanterns 灯笼 (dēnglóng) and enjoy festive gatherings, sharing stories and laughter under the bright moonlight.
Whether with family or friends, the Mid-Autumn Festival is all about celebrating togetherness and the beauty of the season.
